10 Reasons Why Being a Writer is Really Fun
There’s this guy I know who approaches all work by thinking that it’s going to be fun. And this attitude makes me smile. If you’re about to do something super complicated, but you someone tells you it’s going to be fun, it really changes your perception of the work.
So, I think that’s going to be my motto for 2021; all work that I do this year, I’m going to think of as just being a fun game.

Today, then I’m going to share ten reasons why being a writer is fun.
1. The first reason at least for fiction authors has to be that you get to make things up and use your imagination to create a world of your own and populate it with people. You also get to create your own rules for this world. This is true in all genres, though of course, some genres such as fantasy or science fiction give the author more leeway. As a woman’s fiction author who writes stories set in modern America, I don’t have the option to decide that my character is going to suddenly be able to fly. That’s not the kind of story I’m writing, so I’m stuck with our everyday real world, but I still get to control the world my character inhabits and can make up cities and towns.
