Always Show and Never Tell. Is That Good Advice?

Possibly the advice given most often to writers is to show not tell. And it’s obvious why. Readers don’t want to be told a story; they want to experience a story. And as writers, we know this, instinctively.

But it’s still easy to fall into the telling mode. It happens to everyone.
