Free Books Everywhere! Does This Help Authors?

Last week, I downloaded about a dozen free books. This is awesome for me as a reader. I love meeting and discovering new writers. But it made me wonder if we are doing ourselves any favor by giving away our hard work. Are we devaluing books by giving them away or offering them for 99 cents?

I ask this, and yet, I will be doing the same very soon with my previous book as I get ready…
