Your brilliance is right beneath the surface
Over the weekend, I was thinking about two things. The first, ideas. Where do they come from? How do we judge when one is good and when it’s not? Why are they so slippery? You think of one, and before it’s fully formed, it seems to slip away. My second thought was about flow. Some days, ideas and stories flow out of me, and the perfect words fly from my fingertips as if they already existed and were waiting for me to transcribe them. Other times, I feel like reaching inside my head and rebooting my brain.
How are ideas and flow connected? Understanding what stops and enhances them both helps you to easily create stories and have more joy while you are writing.

If you’ve ever thought that the ideas are there, just beneath the surface, but you just can’t reach them or they seem so fuzzy that you can’t clearly see them, you’re probably right. Sometimes, our most brilliant, world-changing thoughts are buried beneath fear, doubt, or distraction, simply waiting for the right moment for it to break free.
