Success is a Game of Skills Acquisition

The Key Skills for Writers

Photo by Stephen Isaiah on Unsplash

Here we are, the first week of January. Everyone is setting goals or at least thinking of what they want to achieve in the new year. I’ve tuned in to a few podcasts and videos sharing tips to help their listeners and viewers achieve all their dreams. Although interesting, I can’t say I’ve learned anything new. Maybe the idea is not to learn something new but to be reminded and inspired to take action.

That’s the way real change happens. We must take action; otherwise, we will remain in the exact same place, and by the end of the year, nothing will have changed.

One piece of advice that I liked, again not because it’s new or unique, but because it’s true and crucial for success, and that was, “Success is a game of skill acquisition.”

In relation to writing, what could be more appropriate advice than to obtain the skills needed to grow into a strong writer and to study the craft?

Tips for starting your writing career

As we begin this new year — if you are reading this as it posts, it’s 2025, and if not, apply it to any year — I want to share a week’s worth of tips on how to start your writing career and succeed.
