THERE’S SOMETHING EXTREMELY SATISFYING WHEN YOU SEE YOUR BOOK DISPLAYED IN A BOOKSTORE

I’ve been busy and putting off my last edits of my upcoming novel, This Is Now which is the sequel to That Was Then. I’ve had so many other things going on in my life that I kept saying, I’ll get to that next week.

Today, I finally decided that there is no more next week. I need to get this done and sent to an editor.

What I wanted to share today is that there is something extremely satisfying when you see you book published and on a bookshelf in a bookstore. It’s not an ego thing. It’s more than that; it’s finally seeing the results of your hard work in physical form for others to enjoy and feeling good about accomplishing a goal.

I often see writers at a bookstore, taking a picture of themselves with their book. Why do they do that? Because they’re proud. Because they’re excited to share their work with others.

But here’s the thing, to have those great feelings, authors need to finish their story. And sometimes that’s the most difficult part of the process.
